About the firm

From articling at the large, multi-national accounting firms, to working at smaller, local firms, Mike announced the opening of his own practice in late 2016. Mike has worked on a variety of engagements. From complex Review engagements for local wineries, to Audits of municipalities and not-for-profit organizations, Mike has serviced clients large and small in the Okanagan area for over 15 years. Having moved to Kelowna in 2005 and graduating soon thereafter from UBC Okanagan/Okanagan College, Mike has hands-on experience with the growth of the local business community. His client focus is on business and personal tax planning, corporate accounting and tax compliance, and consulting for owner-managed businesses. He enjoys implementing accounting systems and controls for start-ups and newly incorporated businesses to ensure his clients can focus on what they know best - their business operations.

Heman Gar is a Senior Manager with over 15 years of professional experience, including having worked for the Big 4, Heman brings a wealth of expertise on the global accounting space. He specializes in providing accounting, tax, and business advisory services to owner-managed businesses, private companies, and individuals. Heman’s experience spans diverse industries, where he has provided strategic guidance and financial oversight. A Chartered Accountant and holder of a Bachelor of Business Administration, Heman’s leadership will play a key role in shaping the strategic direction of our accounting services.

Jessica is a graduate of the UBC Okanagan Bachelor of Management program, with a specialization in accounting. She brings strong attention to detail, a keen willingness to learn, and a positive attitude that makes her a natural fit with our team.

Jessica is passionate about growing her career in public practice and is currently gaining valuable hands-on experience in bookkeeping, financial reporting, and tax preparation. We look forward to supporting her as she pursues her goal of becoming a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA).

Shamith brings a strong foundation of accounting and bookkeeping experience to our team, with several years of hands-on work across a range of industries. Since joining the firm, he has become an integral part of our accounting team, consistently delivering accurate and timely financial reporting, bookkeeping, and client support.

With a detail-oriented approach and a strong grasp of both cloud-based and traditional accounting systems, Shamith plays a key role in maintaining the integrity of our clients’ books and supporting year-end engagements. He is well-versed in platforms such as QuickBooks Online and Xero, and demonstrates a strong understanding of Canadian tax and compliance requirements.
