Notice to Reader financial statements in Kelowna

If you have been told to get a "Notice to Reader" for your Kelowna corporation, you are looking for what is now called a compilation engagement.

The name changed with CSRS 4200; the purpose did not. It is still the standard year-end product for an owner-managed company that does not need assurance.

Why the name changed

CPA Canada replaced Section 9200 with CSRS 4200 for periods ending on or after December 14, 2021. The report is now a Compilation Engagement Report, and it carries a clearer statement about who the financial information is intended for.

Anyone still marketing a "Notice to Reader" is describing the same engagement under its former name.
